We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Computer-aided Manufacturing", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Software supports engineering education from SolidWorks Corporation, which we summarised at the time by saying "Boston University is using 500 licences of SolidWorks Education Edition to teach freshmen and sophomores CAD and engineering fundamentals". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release CMM and software boost machining productivity from Metris: "Verdict Aerospace has increased its output dramatically with a Metris LK co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM), together with the manufacturer's CAMIO programming software".

In August 2006, we covered the news from UGS - take a look at UGS tops CAM survey which says: "CIMdata has named UGS as the leading vendor in the computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software market for the fifth consecutive year based on vendor revenue".

Take a look also at the news release from UGS, NC programming package is neutral about CAD, as well as 3D software gives an edge to American choppers from SolidWorks Corporation, and CADCAM software turns to boat building from Delcam.
