Start with the news release Severn Glocon to show laser scanning technology from Severn Glocon, which we summarised at the time by saying "Oil and gas valve specialist Severn Glocon Group will introduce laser scanning technology offered by its Severn Quantapoint division to Offshore Europe's delegates in September.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Laser Design introduces Polyworks plug-in from Laser Design: "Laser Design has announced that the Polyworks IMalign plug-in is now available for Laser Design's line of Faro and Romer portable arm 3D laser scanners. ".
 
In October 2008, we covered the news from Metris - take a look at Metris streamlines digital inspection process which says: "Metris has released Focus Scan 5.1 and Inspection 9.1, which streamline the digital inspection process and embed it into the CAD-centric design-through-manufacturing process. ".
