‘Electric Drives’

An Engineeringtalk guide

Start with the news release WEG motors drive Brazilian theme-park attractions from WEG Electric Motors, which we summarised at the time by saying "WEG motors, inverters and soft starters are allowing the safe operation of equipment at the Beto Carrero World theme park, located in Santa Catarina, Brazil. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Emerson installs controls at Korean plants from Emerson Process Management: "Emerson Process Management has been selected by Korea Southern East Power Company (KOSEP) to install its Ovation expert control system at two power generation facilities in Korea. ".

In November 2009, we covered the news from Micromech - take a look at Fastpack drives cut energy use in fans and pumps which says: "Micromech has released the Parker SSD drives for fans and pumps, a range of three-phase industrial drives designed to help save energy in applications up to 110kW.".

Take a look also at the news release from Kabelschlepp Metool, Kabelschlepp cable carriers reduce ESD risk, as well as Pan-and-tilt positioner integrates electronics from Aerotech, and Vishay enters strategic partnership with Schneider from Vishay Nobel.
