We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Fieldbuses", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Companies co-operate on Profinet development from ABB Automation Tech (Instrumentation + Automation), which we summarised at the time by saying "ABB and Phoenix Contact aim to develop Profinet as a global industrial standard across the complementary manufacturing areas of process and discrete automation". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Automation fieldbuses change the world quietly from CC-Link Partner Association: "Steve Jones, General Manager of the CC-Link Partner Association, reviews the principles of fieldbus communications and looks at the advantages".

In November 2007, we covered the news from Eurotherm concerning its Mini8 controller - take a look at Controller handles varied signals which says: "The Mini8 controller has four plug-in I/O slots and can cater for a variety of signals such as thermocouple and RTD inputs and relay, logic and analogue outputs".

Take a look also at the news release from Lenze, Servo drive range completed early, as well as Softstarters minimise mechanical stress from Emotron, and Interface company provides day-long course from AS-Interface UK.
