‘Gearhead’

An Engineeringtalk guide

Start with the news release Wittenstein gearhead suits space-restricted apps from Wittenstein (formerly alpha gear drives), which we summarised at the time by saying "Wittenstein has developed the V-Drive+ Servo Worm Gearhead that meets requirements for resource-efficient servo applications and is predestined for applications where space is restricted. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release DC gear motor accepts any 24VDC source from Midwest Motion Products: "Midwest Motion Products has announced the release of the model MMP-TM55-24V GP57-317 DC gear motor.".

In July 2009, we covered the news from Parker Hannifin - Electromechanical and Drives Division - take a look at Parker actuators have standard gearhead options which says: "Parker's Electromechanical Automation Division has announced that its Bayside brand of Gen II gearheads are now available as a standard option on its Daedal brand of HPLA and HLE positioners. ".

Take a look also at the news release from LG Motion, LG designs positioning system for I24 MX beamline, as well as Maxon motor provides more torque per millimetre from Maxon Motor UK, and Parker gearhead offers optional output faces from Parker Hannifin - Electromechanical and Drives Division.
