We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Intrinsic Safety", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Intrinsic safety systems in focus from Pepperl+Fuchs GB, which we summarised at the time by saying "Manual is loaded with information on successfully installing, using, maintaining and repairing intrinsic safety systems". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Safety isolators cut power consumption from MTL Instruments Group: "The reduced power consumption and high efficiency of the isolators enables high signal densities to be achieved, together with improved freedom in cabinet layout and design".

In December 2007, we covered the news from Beka associates concerning its BA201 communications isolator - take a look at Communications isolator makes displays safer which says: "The new BA201 communications isolator has RS232 and RS485 safe area ports enabling multidrop display systems to be constructed".

Take a look also at the news release from Pepperl+Fuchs GB, Ethernet isolators tolerate hazardous jobs, as well as Sensors handle tough environments from Baumer Group, and Indicator refresh rate boosted from Beka associates.
