We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Linear Drive", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Remove valve control suits remote applications from Smith Flow Control, which we summarised at the time by saying "Flexidrive provides a versatile and cost-effective alternative to actuators for valves positioned in hazardous locations or cumbersome rod linkages that are maintenance-intensive". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Program eases linear actuator specification from Hoerbiger-Origa: "Time-consuming catalogue searches for the drive, motor and accessories are eliminated by the automatically generated parts list, complete with order numbers".

In December 2007, we covered the news from New Scale Technologies concerning its SQL-1.8 Squiggle motor - take a look at Tiny linear motor is faster and stronger which says: "The tiny SQL-1.8 Squiggle motor travels as fast as 7mm/s and pushes axial loads of up to 30g - nearly 200 times its own weight of 0.16g".

Take a look also at the news release from Aerotech, Rotary stages excel at angular accuracy, as well as Actuators provide precise positioning from PI (Physik Instrumente), and Stepping drives offer compact solution from Lambda Photometrics.
