‘Luminaire’

An Engineeringtalk guide

Start with the news release Wago launches Lumi-nuts connector from Wago Corp, which we summarised at the time by saying "Wago's 873-902 Lumi-nuts luminaire disconnect combines a 20A/600V line-side rating and daisy chaining capability (two conductors per pole) for installation flexibility.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Power line technology cuts street lighting costs from Echelon: "Starsense uses Echelon's power line technology to reduce installation and deployment costs, turning the existing power lines running to each light pole into a reliable communications network. ".

In March 2008, we covered the news from DuPont (UK) - take a look at Conductive nylon provides matching light housings which says: "Zytel CDV allowed Philips to use the same powder coating process that it uses to paint the steel housing, involving temperatures of 185C during the curing process".

Take a look also at the news release from Lambda Research Corporation, Optical design software links with SolidWorks, as well as How emergency lighting saves lives from IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and Halogen task light in three versions from Waldmann Lighting.
