We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Mechanical Strength", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Metal substitutes cut manufacturing costs from Lati Industria Termoplastici, which we summarised at the time by saying "The good processibility of the polymers means that components can be manufactured in a single injection moulding process, which leads to significant manufacturing cost reductions". Earlier in the week, we featured the news release Polymer keeps it strength at high temperatures from DSM Engineering Plastics: "DSM Engineering Plastics' PA4T polymer is designed to assist automakers in continued weight reduction efforts for better fuel efficiency and lower costs".

In January 2008, we covered the news from Victrex concerning its Vicote coating - take a look at Coating insulates probe rods which says: "Sontec's Vicote-coated sensor probe rod rotates inside an isolating body made from Victrex Peek and is electrically isolated from the container wall as well as from its own process attachment".

Take a look also at the news release from Sandvik Materials Technology UK, Steel bar meets oil and gas needs, as well as Non-metallic conduit suits electrical applications from Adaptaflex, and Keypad handles tough vending machine applications from MacDermid Autotype.
