We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "NURBS", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release CAD data go visual without polygons from nPower Software, which we summarised at the time by saying "Autodesk Maya users no longer have to spend days or weeks translating their high quality surface and solids models into imprecise polygonal models". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Software eases reverse engineering from Sycode: "Point Cloud 1.0 can import a set of points (or a point cloud) from a text file and drape a NURBS surface over it or wrap a mesh around the points".

In August 2007, we covered the news from FreeDesign concerning its FreeDimension1.2 - take a look at Surface modeller receives update which says: "FreeDimension1.2 contains new architecture to add on options according to the specific needs of users".

Take a look also at the news release from Geomagic, Software creates accurate models, as well as Surface generation patent awarded from FreeDesign, and Surface generating software tops awards from Cadwire.
