We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Profibus", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Drives save power on massive presses from Control Techniques, which we summarised at the time by saying "Alcoa's aluminium extrusion presses were upgraded in 1998, a big project requiring the installation of 12 132kW Unidrives". The day before, we featured the news release Frequency inverters help reduce motor size needed from Nord Gear: "Nord Gear frequency inverters can allow low-cost AC motor equipment to be used in place of much more expensive motion controller and servomotor based automation".

In January 2008, we covered the news from Profibus Group - take a look at New publication establishes drive standard which says: "IEC 61800-7-303 specifies the mapping of the Profidrive profile defined in IEC 61800-7-203 on the communication systems Profibus DP (chapter 4) and ProfiNET IO (chapter 5)".

Take a look also at the news release from Profibus Group, Course to explain Profinet, as well as Fieldbus standards come up to date from IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and DaimlerChrysler places large drive order from Control Techniques.
