‘Rotary Actuators’

An Engineeringtalk guide

Start with the news release SDI torque pickup has internal digital data link from Sensor Developments, which we summarised at the time by saying "SDI's model 01424 can be utilised with a variety of instrumentation systems to measure rotating torque, including the 90386 USB Sensor Link. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Kistler offers sensitive and robust torque sensors from Kistler Instruments: "Kistler's piezoelectric torque sensors have a wide measuring range and are adaptable to match most configurations, making them suited to manufacturing-process monitoring. ".

In November 2009, we covered the news from Freudenberg Simrit LP - take a look at Pitch gears with intelligent shaft sealing which says: "Simrit has developed a radial-shaft seal system featuring a leakage sensor that allows for telediagnosis of the shaft seal and automatically sends a signal when the seal's wear limit is reached. ".

Take a look also at the news release from Renishaw, Rotary encoders provide 1nm and 2nm resolutions, as well as Ansys launches software bundle for universities from Ansys, and Variohm unveils membrane potentiometer range from Variohm Eurosensor.
