An Engineeringtalk guide

Start with the news release Universal controller for vehicle hydraulics from Sensor-Technik UK, which we summarised at the time by saying "The STW ESX is a freely programmable universal controller that is ideal for vehicle hydraulic systems. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release PLCs run from 12V DC supplies from IDEC Electronics: "CPU modules with 10, 16 and 24 I/Os are suitable for battery powered applications such as vehicles, traffic signals, access alarms and solar powered remote sites.".

In January 2008, we covered the news from Idec Electronics - take a look at PLCs receive offshore certifiation which says: "MicroSmart Pentra range can handle complex tasks, with 32bit data processing and the ability to handle floating point maths to seven decimal places.".

Take a look also at the news release from Acal TC, Robots offer flexibility at a low cost, as well as Simple operation for force testers from Imada, and Module improves serial communication from Idec Electronics.
