We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Surface Coating", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Metalworkers excel in coursework from Tecan, which we summarised at the time by saying "James Hope, John-Paul Latham and Joe Phebyh achieved distinctions in the Metal Finishing and Surface Coating course". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Choosing the right bearing coating from Schaeffler (UK): "Dr Steve Lacey, Schaeffler UK Engineering Manager, discusses the importance of selecting the right coating or corrosion-resistant material for rolling bearings operating in harsh environments".

In July 2007, we covered the news from Schaeffler (UK) concerning its Cronitect martensitic hardening steel - take a look at Bearing steel offers corrosion resistance which says: "Cronitect steel is able to withstand extreme conditions, including salt spray testing in accordance with DIN 50021 SS without any problems, even after 600 hours".

Take a look also at the news release from Micromech, Low-cost positioners don't compromise on accuracy, as well as Ceramic coating technology hits the streets from Zircotec, and Thermometer cleans up on food applications from Barber InSys.
