We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Variable Speed Drive", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Upgrade for compressed air control from Energair Solutions, which we summarised at the time by saying "Range comprises of six compressed air controllers designed to suit air systems ranging from one to 24 compressors". The day before, we featured the news release Drives provide a smooth ride from Control Techniques: "The secure disable feature ensures when the secure disable input is disconnected, the drive will not operate the motor, even if combinations of components within the drive have failed".

In January 2008, we covered the news from Profibus Group - take a look at New publication establishes drive standard which says: "IEC 61800-7-303 specifies the mapping of the Profidrive profile defined in IEC 61800-7-203 on the communication systems Profibus DP (chapter 4) and ProfiNET IO (chapter 5)".

Take a look also at the news release from ABB Automation Tech (Drives and Motors), Drive helps keep football pitch healthy, as well as DaimlerChrysler places large drive order from Control Techniques, and Fieldbus protocol offers key to Asian markets from CC-Link Partner Association.
