We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Variable Torque", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Motors combine accuracy and power savings from Motion Drives and Controls, which we summarised at the time by saying "Control algorithms combine the accuracy, precision and power savings of traditional servomotors with the higher torque and lower cost of traditional stepper motors". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Inverters pump water in Ireland from Invertek Drives: "Two pressure levels can be set, one at which the drive stops the water pump operating and another at which the drive commences operation again".

In June 2007, we covered the news from WEG Electric Motors (UK) concerning its CFW-8 compact drives - take a look at Compact drives receive new features which says: "The CFW-08 drives integrate the latest DSP (digital signal processor) and 16bit space vector modulation for optimised motor control and quiet operation".

Take a look also at the news release from Lafert Electric Motors, Saving energy with two-speed motors, as well as Tension control in narrow web labelling machines from Andantex, and Oversizing pump motors costs industry dear from WEG Electric Motors (UK).
