We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Voltage Surge Suppression", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Engineeringtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Switchboard provides uninterruptible power from Eaton Corp, which we summarised at the time by saying "Essential-side MCCBs open automatically in the event of loss of power but incorporate electronic time delays so that they re-close at 30s intervals to avoid stalling the generator". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release 2007 energy catalogue released from Tyco Electronics - Energy Division: "The 2007 Electrical distribution and circuit protection product catalogue includes products that address the requirements for power metering emanating from the latest Part L2 Building Regulations".

In September 2006, we covered the news from Eaton Corp concerning its Halyester range - take a look at GRP enclosures survive demanding environments which says: "High specification glass-fibre-reinforced polyester enclosures suit equipment such as switches, circuit-breakers, fuse switchgear, motor controlgear and other control and metering equipment".

Take a look also at the news release from Lightning Eliminators and Consultants, Should your plant rely on lightning rods?, as well as Transient surges - the hidden problem from Advance Electronics, and Morgan puts emphasis on quality from Riello UPS.
