Ultimate in belt cleaning technology claimed
Ace Arc has recently been appointed as sole UK distributor for Dirt Whacker belt cleaning equipment, claimed as the ultimate in belt cleaning technology
Wearplate improved by variable composition
Wearplate supplied by Ace Arc has been designed to meet the arduous operating conditions encountered in the quarrying, construction and mining industries, but is also suitable for many general uses
It can also be used with reversible conveyor systems and is claimed to be fail-safe in operation.
The equipment can be customised to suit particular operating conditions and locations, and the unique design features mean the need for mechanical adjustments has been eliminated.
The scraper blade on Dirt Whacker is segmented across the belt width so that high points of wear may only necessitate a single segment blade replacement.
Individual blades are fitted to hinged mountings in the form of articulated parallelograms.
These take up variable angles of inclination to accommodate the belt underside contour, which then maintain a constant blade to belt angle so providing equal cleaning pressure across the full belt width.
The blade pressure is maintained using a heavy duty rubber sleeve which passes through each of the articulated blade mountings.
This sleeve is itself internally primed by air pressure to maintain a constant blade pressure, irrespective of blade condition or inclination of the mountings.
Belt and fastener wear is minimised by precise pressure control which can be set to suit local operating conditions.
Individual blade wear is automatically compensated for by the articulated mountings, and blade replacement is limited to fully worn blades only, showing considerable savings on wear components.
Pressurisation of the system, which is provided with a pressure gauge, can be with a simple pneumatic pump and does not require an air ring main installation.
However, provision can be made if required for remote blade pressure adjustment.
Once installed, the equipment only requires occasional visual inspection to identify blades needing replacement, with no further general maintenance needed.
Blade replacement can be easily undertaken without interfering with existing pressure settings, and no re-calibration is required for new blades owing to the self-adjustment feature of the equipment.
The Dirt Whacker belt cleaner is available through the sole UK agent Ace Arc Ltd,.
