Wearplate supplied by Ace Arc has been designed to meet the arduous operating conditions encountered in the quarrying, construction and mining industries, but is also suitable for many general engineering applications where equipment is subject to abrasion and wear.

Called Ace 600, the wearplate comprises a chromium carbide overlay material, which is both very hard and abrasion resistant, fused to a mild steel backing plate.

No heat treatment is involved, but an excellent hardness of minimum 57RC and typically 58-62RC is achieved.

A very strong metallurgical bond is created by the homogeneous layer which is formed between the two materials during the computer controlled manufacturing process.

This guarantees that highly consistent product quality is maintained to achieve optimum wear life, with production also carried out within closely monitored parameters.

Over 25 separate checks are undertaken during manufacture, covering both hardness and thickness monitoring, to ensure ISO 9002 quality standards.

However, high wear resistance is not simply a matter of material hardness.

Chrome levels combined with the size and distribution of the carbide content are also carefully formulated to achieve material compositions providing optimum wear life.

Various grades of chromium carbide plate can be manufactured, to meet the most demanding requirements covering heavy abrasion, high temperatures and chemical attack or corrosion.

Ace 600 can be supplied in a range of plate sizes from 2500 x 1250mm to 4000 x 2500mm.

These represent the uncut backing sheet dimensions, with the welded hardfaced areas being nominally smaller.

Overall plate thicknesses from 10mm upwards can be supplied, with optional thickness ratios of hardfacing to backing plate being available.

It can be cold formed and fixing achieved with conventional welding, by countersunk bolts or with stud fixings onto the mild steel backing plate.

Cut-to-shape wearplate can also be supplied to customers' specifications, or Ace Arc can supply a full cladding service if required, with all components produced with the latest CNC/CAD profiling system.

This is a fully customised operation with double thickness wearplate provided if required at points of excessive wear.

Refurbishment work for mixer pans and refacing primary and secondary crusher parts can be undertaken by the company as part of an overall service for wearparts to the quarrying and construction industries etc.
