Automatic belt cleaner for any belt width
The Dirt Whacker belt cleaner from Ace Arc provides automatic operation, with permanent self-compensating adjustment against wear, for any belt width
Used to heat stone to make asphalt, the 2.5 x 14m long dryer drum, which is an integral part of the equipment, was adapted by Ace Arc to meet the specific requirements of the new site.
After its collection from the storage site in East Anglia, the unit was fully inspected, overhauled and modified for its new role at Graig.
Although most of the work was carried out in Ace Arc's workshop in Coalville, Leicestershire, engineers also worked on site to dismantle the existing installation and replace it with the modified dryer.
Quarry manager Richard Sanderson said that although Ace Arc had been approached because it had done work for the company before, it won the pitch on the basis of its competitive quote and great flexibility.
"We had several companies quote to undertake the refurbishment and Ace Arc came out on top.
They demonstrated their ability to work to very tight time schedules and flexibly around other contractors on site.
They are also recognised as providing high quality workmanship, both in their workshop and on site".
