Alpha's new HG+ right-angle gearhead allows machine designers to solve long-standing inefficiencies associated with right-angle applications.

Alpha's new HG+ right-angle gearhead allows machine designers to solve long-standing inefficiencies associated with right-angle applications.

The result of Alpha's research and technology shift into single-stage gearing technology, the HG+ achieves an efficiency above 96% with guaranteed backlash of less than 4arc-min, ratios of 1:1000, and an acceleration torque of 20-640Nm - all in a compact, right-angle gearhead solution.

Additional advantages of the evolutionary single-stage gearhead design include low inertia, high speeds, low noise, low heat, and lower system costs.

The technology shift to one-stage gearing compares favourably with servo worm gears and with larger, more complicated, two- and three-stage gearheads with bevel stages.

The HG+ is an optimal solution for compact servomotor applications such as packaging and converting machinery, handling and gantry robots, and flat bed type machinery.

The HG+ is available in five sizes.

It mounts to all servomotors in 5min, using a universal mounting system.
