Calculation software helps users find the optimal servo gear reducer for a particular application using databases in which more than 6000 motors from various manufacturers are stored.

Alpha Gear Drives has introduced the Cymex calculation software to help users find the optimal servo gear reducer for a particular application Cymex uses extensive databases in which all Alpha products and over 6000 motors from various manufacturers are stored - claimed to be the largest library of its kind anywhere in the world

The user enters the application data and Cymex immediately calculates the complete drive train.

Numerous standard applications make the choice easier.

Cymex lets users experiment by trying out different load cases, varying the parameters and testing the preferred drive system in detail.

It then compiles technical documentation for the project.

Beyond the basic Cymex 3.0 Design Edition is the Cymex 3.0 Motion Edition.

In the Motion Edition, users can layout a complete drive system with only a mouse-click.

Belt, volume, spindle, turntable and rack pinion drives are predefined as standard applications in the Motion Edition.

Arbitrary general load cases can be computed.

Along the drive system, it is possible to output data at every one of the six dial gauges (for example torque, number of revolutions, mass-moment of inertia and translation) to optimise the drive strand.
