Altair sets plans for CAE Technology Conference

Altair Engineering has announced the line-up for its sixth free CAE Technology Conference, to be held 14 May 2009 at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

The biennial conference will bring together companies that have integrated the Hyperworks computer-aided engineering (CAE) technology into their design processes.

These companies will demonstrate how leading UK companies are using virtual design and simulation to develop a competitive edge.

The keynote addresses will come from: Bob Joyce, group engineering director, Jaguar and Land Rover; Richard Noble, project director, Bloodhound SSC; Dave Phipps, new generation composite wing (NGCW) programme manager, Airbus UK; and Professor John Roberts, manager of the Centre of Competence for Crash and Safety, Bombardier Transportation.

The event has also attracted technical speakers from: Amsafe Bridport, ARRK Technical Services, Beru F1, Cranfield Impact Centre, Force India, Ford Motor Company, Thyssenkrupp Tallent, SAIC and Unilever.

The sessions will cover solver technologies for accurate analysis, structural optimisation for optimum product performance, enterprise process management and methods for designing with composite materials.
