Sliding-head lathe slashes production time
Mill-turning aerospace connectors using Star Micronics' Star SV-32 sliding-head lathe followed by a single shaping operation is getting Doughty Precision Engineering closer to one-hit manufacture
Of his appointment, Mr Hall commented, "Today's machine tool representative has to be much more than a sales person.
It is essential to keep abreast of rapidly evolving products, new technologies, materials and tooling, not to mention health and safety issues, in order to operate effectively in this fast-moving and challenging marketplace.
"With today's skills shortage in manufacturing, accelerating competition from overseas and the consequent need for higher added-value machining, manufacturers have never had a greater requirement for a high level of expertise and support from the person advising them when they are looking to invest in new plant and equipment.
I hope and believe that my customers will see those qualities in me and look forward to giving them a first-class service on behalf of Star".
