A 24-page catalogue giving technical specifications of all the drives available from ABB's Comp-AC range of low power AC drives is now available from ABB Automation The catalogue looks in depth at the 'add-ons' and options that are available with Comp-AC drives, such as EMC filters, input and output chokes, braking units, control panels and fieldbus communication options

It explains the difference between the eight pre-programmed macros that are available in all Comp-AC drives.

These time saving macros automatically set the parameters for various applications, such as pump and fan or HVAC applications, at the touch of a button.

The connection requirements, mounting options and dimensions are given for both single and three phase versions along with schematics of the removable control panel and connection options.

The detachable control panel allows parameters to be easily copied from drive to drive.

Also explained are the benefits of various communication options and the added flexibility that they give manufacturing processes.

Comp-AC drives can be connected to all major automation systems, allowing the user to choose their communication system independently of their drives.

This is achieved with a dedicated gateway concept between fieldbus systems and ABB's Distributed Drive Communications System (DDCS).

DDCS is a high-speed optical link that combines fast data transfer with high levels of noise immunity, compared to traditional hard-wired connections.

Comp-AC drives come with the Modbus gateway as standard but all other main communication gateways are also available through the DDCS module.

These include Profibus, Interbus-S, Modbus, Modbus Plus, Devicenet, Canopen and Lonworks.

Comp-AC combines a wide range of sub 40kW drives with a collection of six customer support packages that are available all over the globe.

Together, Comp-AC offers the easiest way for customers to purchase low power AC drives and the peace of mind that its all covered by one of the world's largest support networks.

A distinctive Icon illustrates each of the six support capabilities, including: instant telephone ordering, credit card payment, rapid delivery, easy installation, 24 hour technical telephone support and a no-argument world wide warranty.

Comp-AC is also the first range of low power AC drives that can be purchased over the Internet.

Users log on to www.comp-ac.com where they can select their exact requirements, place an order and pay for their drives on-line.

For more information about Comp-AC and the new technical catalogue call the Comp-AC line on 0700 2 266722.
