ABB Automation has released the Designer Pack, to offer comprehensive technical support to panel builders, OEMs and engineering consultants for its Comp-AC range of low powered AC drives The Designer Pack features 'copy and paste' AutoCAD drawings to simplify system design and technical detailing, it also contains parameter checklists to facilitate drive system commissioning

The Designer Pack has been developed to assist in six key areas: product evaluation, selection, purchasing, system engineering, commissioning and maintenance.

Engineers using AutoCAD can copy and paste drawings of every application macro into their system designs, saving valuable time when developing user interfaces.

They can also import technical information on power losses, line harmonics, sizing and control parameters.

Commissioning is supported by checklists of all the relevant drive parameters that need to be considered when setting up each application macro.

The Designer Pack is available on a free CD-ROM from ABB or can be downloaded from the Comp-AC web site.

All the information is presented in two formats, the first is for people using AutoCAD, Word and Photoshop.

For those without these programs the content is also provided in PDF format.

These files can be read by the Adobe Acrobat Reader which is also included on the Designer Pack CD and on the website.
