Motor performance curves, datasheets and drawings for low voltage AC motors from 0.055 to 710kW are now available from ABB's website With an easy to use database tool, ABB is enabling the data for more than 500 motors to be downloaded or viewed

This also includes certificates, motor catalogues, manuals, test reports, spare parts and options lists.

The aim is to give users access to exact specifications for calculations, drawings and other documentation.

Specific data are provided for each motor type.

These include the performance curves, which previously were calculated using proprietary software.

The drawings are available as CAD drawings as well as dimensional drawings that can be copied and pasted between applications.

Certificates and catalogues are published in PDF format.

To gain access from the ABB motors and drives website, click on "motors" and "low voltage motors" to get to the online motor data search.

This search tool combines a straightforward user interface with an extensive database.

For information about a specific motor, users simply input a few basic parameters by selecting alternatives in a series of drop-down menus.

The database covers ABB's low voltage general purpose and process performance motors in cast iron, aluminium and steel, as well as motors for hazardous areas.

The certificates online include, among others, EC declarations of conformity, environmental certificates, quality certificates, classification societies' certificates for marine motors and type examination certificates for hazardous area motors.

New information and documents are uploaded as they become available, ensuring the database is always up to date.

ABB's motors and drives web pages have been redesigned with a new navigation structure for fast and easy use.

The layout has been improved to provide a clear and uncluttered environment, with local contact options available on every page.

ABB is undertaking an extensive effort to revamp its product pages on the Internet.

Motors and drives is the second product group after instrumentation to launch its new-look pages.
