ABB manufactures a full range of EEx d and EEx de flameproof motors, covering IEC frame sizes 80 to 710 and power ratings of 0.55 to 4500kW, low and high voltage.
The new products represent the smaller-size end of the low voltage EEx d and EEx de range, frame sizes 80 to 132 and ratings of 0.55 to 7.5kW.
The new motors are supplied with loose feet as well as flange rings rather than flanges - design features that make installation and modification easier.
A 4 x 90-degree turnable terminal box is fitted as standard, the same box being used for all shaft heights.
The EEx de motors are fitted with a Siliminium cable flange and EEx e approved cable glands as standard.
The new motors feature higher efficiency and lower temperature rise than previous versions and 3 x 150C PTC thermistors are included.
Two-pack epoxy paint is used, as in the motors for IEC frame sizes 160-400.
