Competition highlights the ABB HVAC's simplicity

An ABB Automation Tech (Drives and Motors) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 1, 2008

Kye Jefferies of Dalkia has won an online competition to find the fastest programmer of an ABB HVAC drive.

The competition highlighted how easy the ABB HVAC drive is to program.

Contestants had to complete tasks such as setting the speed of the motor, reversing the motor direction and stopping the drive.

The ABB HVAC drive is programmed with HVAC applications such as supply and return fans, cooling tower fans, booster pumps and condensers.

Built in EMC filters eliminate the need for external filtering, while built-in timers that use a realtime clock allow the device to be started and stopped or the speed to be changed according to the time.
