Slide rule simplifies electric-motor measurement

An ABB Automation Tech (Drives and Motors) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 12, 2009

ABB has released a simple-to-use slide rule that makes it easy to get the correct dimensioning for electric motors.

The ABB motor dimensioning tool is free to the first 200 people to apply.

Simply selecting the output power of an application and the corresponding window reveals all the mechanical and electrical data for either a two-pole motor or a four-pole motor.

Data includes frame size, full load-speed, current, torque and efficiency along with foot dimensions, shaft diameter and length and flange dimensions.
