Interlocked disconnectors switch between
supplies
ABB's new SwitchLine range of change-over/transfer switches is designed to provide safe and reliable on-load switching between two power supplies.
ABB's new SwitchLine range of change-over/transfer switches is designed to provide safe and reliable on-load switching between two power supplies With ratings from 16 up to 1600A, typical applications will include switching between a primary mains supply and a standby supply, such as a generator set

Keep tabs on blown fuses in motor controls
The new OFM electronic fuse monitor has been developed by ABB Control to provide increased safety and faster repairs for three-phase motor control centres
They are supplied as ready to fit kits with either manual or motorised operation.
The SwitchLine change-over switches are composed of two ABB switch disconnectors, either three or four pole, which are mechanically interlocked to provide three stable positions (I-0-II), with no risk of parallel connection of the two supplies, even in case of transient voltages.
The isolation of the two power supplies is guaranteed by a positive contact opening function and reliable position indication.
The switch disconnectors are independent of external power which means there is no risk of unexpected opening due to a loss of power, while no power is required to keep the switch in the closed position.
Two versions of the SwitchLine change-over/transfer switches are available.
For applications between 16 and 125A two ABB OT switch disconnectors are mechanically interlocked side by side, while for ratings from 200 up to 1600A two ABB OETL switch disconnectors are mechanically interlocked in two layers (also known as piggyback format).
Both versions are rated for on-load switching.
A variety of handles are available for manual operation of the change-over/transfer switches, including external pistol type handles with IP65 rating and provision for padlocking.
For the faster possible change-over between normal and the back-up supply the OETL switches can also be supplied complete with motorised operation, with either a 48V AC/DC or 230V AC motor.
