Burnell Control Systems has become the UK's first ABB approved panel builder.
Burnell Control Systems has become the UK's first ABB approved panel builder.
Under the new scheme, Burnell will actively use and sell ABB's range of low voltage products within its panels to the UK marketplace.
The Kent-based engineering firm has been designing, manufacturing and installing power distribution, package substations and control system applications around the UK for over 30 years.
It specialises in building bespoke package substations, switchgear and MCCs for applications within the food industry, railways, hospitals and commercial developments.
Speaking on the signing of the agreement, Sales Director of Burnell Control Systems, John Blake said: "We are very proud to be the first ABB approved panel builder in the country".
"Over the last 12 years we have developed a tremendous rapport with ABB's sales and technical teams and this scheme will allow us to continue to build on that to the benefit of our customers".
Burnell Controls was first attracted to ABB's active nature in providing support as well as the quality of its products.
"When it comes to product quality, ABB's products are head and shoulders above the rest", says Blake.
"In addition to this, ABB's support for its partners, such as easy ordering and rapid delivery, were also very important in the company's decision to join the scheme".
ABB's approved panel builder scheme came into force in April 2004 and was set up to build on the existing levels of service and support to end users of panel boards.
Under the terms of the partnership, Burnell Control Systems will service ABB's low voltage products used within its panel boards and exclusively use ABB products on its projects where specification and client preference allow.
In return, ABB will refer suitable requests for the supply of systems to Burnell Controls as well as provide service and spares support where necessary.
ABB will also offer a dedicated training resource on its products for Burnell staff and supply various sales and marketing tools to help promote the products and services on offer.
"Burnell Controls is an ideal candidate for the approved panel building scheme", says ABB Sales Engineer Andy Garrett.
"Their knowledge and expertise in putting together bespoke panels provides real value for customers as well as showcases our products in the best possible light".
