The agreement between ABS and Ferrier Pumps has been formed to ensure that customers benefit from a more local service than has been previously available from one of the largest pump manufacturers in the world today.
Ferrier pumps, who celebrate their 20th anniversary this year have full sales, service, repair and installation facilities in each of their depots.
In announcing the strategic alliance with Ferrier Pumps, Simon Taylor, National Sales Manager for ABS, was keen to point out that this new agreement is more than a business partnership, and has many benefits for both ABS and Ferrier Pumps.
"Our agreement with Ferrier Pumps is very much more than a partnering agreement.
It represents our joint commitment to our customers in Scotland and our desire to offer local technical support with regional service centres throughout the country.
Ferrier Pumps was looking for a global manufacturer to support its growing business and we wanted offices and a regional service structure to support our customers." Mr Taylor went on to say, "We have appointed Alan Kitching, a highly qualified and experienced member of our staff to run our Scottish operation and technically support Ferrier Pumps' well established business".
"I am pleased to have ABS firmly committed in support of our own activities in Scotland," commented Brian Ferrier, Managing Director of Ferrier Pumps.
"This alliance clearly benefits both parties and will assist us both in supporting our respective customers.
We have already seen a sharp increase in order intake since the agreement was set up and we are working hard to develop a range of customer activities such as customer seminars and technical workshops." ABS is committed to forming new strategic alliances in support of its growing Water and Wastewater Business Sector.
A further announcement is likely to be made later in the year.
