Machines for repeated testing of torsion springs
AG Measurematics is manufacturing microprocessor based testing machines for repeated testing of many different types of torsion springs for a military equipment manufacturing company
Test reports, containing test results and spring characteristics can be generated through a printer.
Recently an automobile switch manufacturer asked us to add attachments on their new STM and also make modifications in our Software so that they could use the same machine for testing of their switches as well.
Our product development engineers designed special base plate and brackets and used a geared motor to drive the machine at very slow speeds (Minimum of 0.5 mm per minute).
Quick change mechanism was also designed and fitted to allow change of different capacities of load cells for different components.
With modifications in the application software done by our software engineers, their Spring Testing machine can also be used to determine the force and the travel of the switch actuator at which the switches operate.
User can zoom any portion of the displayed characteristics.
Test Data, stored in user defined files can be viewed for already tested components.
They can, now, quantify the behaviour of their various switches and work towards improving consistency and reliability.
