AberLink has added new USB camera to its Project X optical measuring device, offering an increased frame rate and the ability to synchronise the camera's exposure to the light controller.

UK-based AberLink has added new, high-quality USB camera to its Project X optical measuring device.

The camera builds on the merits of its predecessor with higher resolution, an increased frame rate, auto-focus ability, cross-hair functionality and the ability to synchronise the camera's exposure to the light controller.

Project X is based on a Colour-Matrix scale.

This approach allows X,Y and rotational positions to be plotted with a high level of accuracy.

Although the unit boasts a measuring capacity of 400 x 300mm with 125mm of motorised Z-axis focus, it occupies a relatively small footprint.

Retailing for the same price as a conventional profile projector, yet delivering considerably improved functionality and accuracy, Project X is equally at home within an inspection department or on a shop-floor.

A smooth air-bearing system, high-inertia adjustment hand wheels, automatic edge detection and AberLink's new camera help to ensure the unit's accuracy and ease of operation.

The new camera's advanced Telecentric's lens means that operational metrology is not reliant on focus, whilst a 19-inch flat screen, high-resolution monitor guarantees that all of the unit's displayed images and graphics are crisp and clear.

Further improving speed of operation, a fast digital magnification facility negates the need to changes lenses.

Project X's controller boasts a huge memory and rapid processing power, enabling AberLink's software to generate full graphical and tabulated reports at the click of a mouse.
