Power supply system delivers up to 1,600W

An Absopulse Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 6, 2009

The HBL 1K6 Series from Absopulse Electronics is a heavy-duty, modular AC/DC switching power supply system.

It uses a field-proven full-bridge topology to deliver up to 1,600W, depending on output voltage requirements.

This system is housed in a 1U x 19in rack-mount chassis and is suitable for industrial plants, air-traffic control systems, power utilities, radio communication and other critical applications.

The standard version of the HBL 1K6 is rated for any single DC-output voltage from 12V DC to 150V DC.

It can be operated from a 230V AC or 115V AC line voltage.

A 250V DC input (190 to 370V range) is also possible.

Other input/output configurations are available on request.

An optional built-in redundancy diode allows for parallel and N+1 operation.

This low-profile unit is fan-cooled and rated for operation over 0C to 50C at full load without de-rating, with wider temperature ranges available on request.

Other options include additional ruggedness and conformal coating for immunity to extreme levels of shock, vibration and humidity.

The unit features full electronic protection and 80 per cent efficiency at full load, depending on input/output voltage configuration.

The HBL 1K6 is filtered to meet EN55022 Class A EMI as a minimum and meets international safety approvals including EN60950 and related UL and CSA standards.
