DC-output UPS system delivers 100W power

An Absopulse Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 10, 2009

Absopulse Electronics has released the BCH 100 compact DC-output UPS system designed for industrial and other rugged environments.

The built-in battery-charger section provides 100W power for the output and for float charging the external battery.

Standard single output float voltage options include 13.8V DC, 27.6V DC or 55.2V DC.

The unit operates from a 95V to 264V AC universal input.

Custom input and output options are available on request.

The BCH 100 has a low battery disconnect circuit to prevent damage to the external battery by low discharge during prolonged AC failure.

The battery input is also protected against accidental reverse battery connection by a crossbar diode and internal safety fuse.

A built-in redundancy diode prevents battery discharge back in to the charger if the AC is disconnected or collapses.

This unit also features a charger fail alarm (Form A) to indicate either failure of the charger circuit or loss of AC input power.

A charger 'On' LED indicator is located beside the terminal block.

This compact UPS system is conduction and convection cooled, requires no fan, and is rated for operation over a 0C to +50C range without derating.

An extended temperature range is available on request.

Other options include heavy ruggedising and conformal coating for operation in extreme environments.

The unit is fully protected and meets EN 60950 and related international standard requirements.
