Alibre Design Expert is a member of the Alibre Design family of professional 3D parametric solid modelling applications for mechanical design and manufacturing.
Customers simply launch MSC.visualNastran Motion from an integrated menu in Alibre Design.
The 3D assembly automatically loads, ready for applying motion constraints, driving forces and loads to create an accurate physics-based virtual prototype.
This prototype can be used to size motors and bearings, determine interferences and collisions and calculate joint loads.
Calculated forces can be used with the FEA addon bundled with Alibre Design Expert to perform a dynamic structural analysis.
It's also possible to generate highly accurate and realistic animations of models for presentations or marketing materials.
"The MSC.Software brand says a lot; this is huge for Alibre Design customers and for the market at large", said Greg Milliken, president and CEO of Alibre.
"MSC.Software is a recognised leader in the CAE market and we're extremely excited to have them as a partner".
"Alibre is opening new markets by making professional CAD and CAE software available to everyone", said Frank Perna, Chairman and CEO, MSC.Software.
"Part of our growth strategy is to put sophisticated, easy to use simulation tools in the hands of every designer, and our partnership with Alibre takes a significant step in the execution of that strategy".
Alibre Design Expert includes a six-month licence of MSC.visualNastran Motion and is priced at $1595 in the USA and Canada.
The MSC.visualNastran bundle is currently only available in North America.
Additional six-month leases are also available from Alibre at a reasonable rate.
