Shaft coupling can double as a machined spring
Abssac is well known for supplying the Heli-Cal beam style shaft coupling, but it is not widely known that the same product can be utilised as a machined spring.
Produced in stainless steel, the zero-backlash shaft coupling can transmit rotational torque even when subjected to shaft misalignments.
The total shaft coupling is only 5mm long.
In addition to the enhanced reliability of the drive system the shaft coupling provides a thermal barrier between shafts and aids in the cooling process of the application.
A choice of angular misalignment capabilities has been offered to the customer as part of Abssac's ability to offer an unlimited amount of shaft coupling potentials.
Using the same technology Abssac is supplying specialist designs into the medical, aerospace and pharmaceutical markets where single piece construction, reliability and material choice is of importance. Request a free brochure from Abssac ...
