The proven W series helical beam shaft coupling range has been broadened to allow two more diameters within its metric coupling ranges.

Previously the WA and WAC (aluminium) and W7 and W7C series (stainless steel) had an outside diameter limit of 30mm.

The two new sizes incorporate 40 and 50mm diameters allowing shaft sizes from 3 to 20mm to be accommodated with shaft keyways if required.

The W series combines the best features of the A Series and the H Series, with the convenience of metric dimensions and fasteners for metric based designs.

The W Series can be used in a wide range of applications from driving components with light torque requirements, such as encoders and tachometers (aluminium), to lead screws, servomotors and pumps requiring greater torque (stainless steel).

Available in 7075-T6 aluminium alloy or 17-4 PH corrosion-resistant steel the new larger flexible shaft couplings will always provide reliable zero backlash torque transmission through life.

Abssac's Chris Cattle says: "The two new diameters allow dynamic torques up to 37Nm to be transmitted, which brings the W series into a whole new range of rotary applications".
