Adapter hubs turn to an age-old problem

An Abssac product story

A new standard range of adapter hubs solves problems when interfacing sensors with large-diameter shafts.

Obtaining a rotational output reading directly from a large-diameter shaft has always posed a problem, and design engineers have often resorted to either producing their own costly reduction hubs or purchasing over-engineered large-diameter hollow encoders to achieve accurate output data.

Abssac has now launched a new standard range of adapter hubs to allow this easy connection.

Manufactured from one piece of aluminium, the new AH series incorporates an integral clamp attachment, accepting bore diameters from 20 up to 70mm.

Concentrically, on the other side, a precision tolerance 4 to 10mm diameter stub shaft allows for ease of connection to a small flexible coupling and shaft encoder or directly to a less costly hollow encoder.
