Abssac introduces Budgetbeam shaft coupling

An Abssac product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 4, 2008

The Budgetbeam shaft coupling delivers a high torsional stiffness and torque transmission capability.

A high pitch double start helical beam configuration ensures maximum torsional rigidity while offering lower radial loads associated with triple start alternatives.

The integral clamp attachment design ensures shaft concentricity and total shaft clamping for zero backlash torque delivery.

The Budgetbeam has made attaching the shaft coupling to the motor shaft and driven shaft easy.

Two options are available.

The set screw shaft attachment design has two sets of grub screws 120 degrees apart that affix to the shaft at each hub end.

It is available in aluminium or stainless steel as standard.

The Budgetbeam shaft coupling can accept up to five degrees of angular and 0.1mm of parallel shaft misalignment.

It is stocked in metric bores in four, five, six, seven, eight, 10 and 12mm.

The Budgetbeam shaft coupling ensures torsional wind up does not enter drive designs.

It is suitable for closed loop encoder and servomotor applications as well as lead screw to motor connections, all of which require high torsional stiffness to avoid loss of registration.
