The latest version of the SpinFire client-server design visualisation and collaboration solution supports Macrovision's FlexNet universal software licensing technologies to allow licence borrowing With SpinFire Professional's support of Flexlm version 9.2 and the licensing borrowing environment, customers will realise cost savings and convenience through flexible software license management options

Macrovision's Flexlm product is a software licensing platform that provides a range of licence management capabilities for software publishers and enterprises.

The platform streamlines software business costs by simplifying operations and logistics.

"The availability of Flexlm will further enhance the value of SpinFire for companies by allowing them to allocate licenses on demand and for offline users", said John MacKrell, Senior Consultant with CIMData.

"In addition to reducing overall cost, more people will be able to take advantage of the high value of viewing and working with 3D design information".

"This is a significant step in providing ubiquitous access to knowledge that can foster more innovation in products and services that organisations can provide".

"Corporations can control cost through the flexibility of floating license technology, allowing a group of users to share a pool of SpinFire Pro 2004 licenses", said Randy Ochs, President and CEO of Actify.

"The new borrowing functionality extends our flexibility by removing the requirement that a computer running a floating licence application be continuously attached to the network".

"Therefore, a user can disconnect from the network and still retain their licence allowing them to take software on the road or offsite".
