Actify calls for 3D model competition entries

Actify, a leader in digital design communication solutions, has announced a call for entries for its third annual 3D model competition.

Actify, the worldwide leader in digital design communication solutions, today announced a call for entries for its third annual 3D model competition.

Contestants are judged on their best use of Actify's SpinFire Professional product line for 3D modelling.

Nominations are now open and will close at midnight on 31 January 2006.

Winners will be selected and announced in February 2006.

First prize winner will be awarded US $1000, second prize is US $500 and third prize is US $250 in each of the six categories.

'Our goal in running this worldwide contest is to gain a better insight into how our customers are leveraging the power of 3D to create and communicate better design data and share best practices with others in the CAD community', said Randy Ochs, president and CEO of Actify.

'As in previous years, models will be judged based on originality, creativity and real-world applicability across several vertical market segments'.

Categories for this year's competition includes: Best Overall Part; Best Overall Assembly; Best Use of the 3D WorkSpace; Best Automotive Part or Assembly; Best Aerospace Part or Assembly; and Best Industrial Automation/Heavy Industry Part or Assembly.

Participants can enter a 3D model in any or all of the above categories and in any CAD file format.
