Ace Controls International announces a major advance in shock absorber design and performance with the introduction of the new Magnum range of shock absorbers.

Magnum shock absorbers, available in both adjustable and self-compensating versions, have a larger energy capacity than competing units, all in a smaller fully threaded body for easier mounting.

To achieve this greater energy capacity the inner and metering tube diameters have been increased.

The larger diameter inner tube also gives an increased operating range of effective weights.

Two further improvements are an integral stop collar and a superior length to diameter ratio for the rod bearing.

Magnum shock absorbers are protected in dirty environments with a new rod seal design with unsymmetrical u-cups.

Employing two lip seals, one primary lip with a backup balancing lip trailing providing longer life.

A blend of polyurethane seal material, having less compression set and higher tensile strength, extends the seal's cycle life.

The integral stop collar mechanically shields around the wiper seal and rod.

Shock absorber adjustment has also been made easier by offering two methods of adjustment.

The stop collar doubles as an adjuster with a second adjuster at the back of the unit for increased access.

Design engineers can now select smaller shock absorbers for previously similar applications with reductions in required space and cost.
