Ace Controls International has added two new slimline models into its range of rotary dampers.

Ace Controls International has added two new slimline models into its range of rotary dampers.

The FDT rotary damper offers damping in both directions and with four models - FDT-47, 57, 63 and 70 - provides a damping torque of 2 to 8.7Nm.

The FDN damper offers damping in one direction only, however a removable central collar allows the damping direction to be determined clockwise or anticlockwise.

The two models offered FDN-57 and 70 provide a damping torque of 5.5 and 10Nm.

However, it is the slimness of these new units that offers design engineers the most versatility.

With a maximum depth of only 11.3mm for the FDT model and 14mm for the FDN model, their unobtrusive fitment can be used in a host of applications.

One area that has already proven popular is their use in reclining car seats to provide a smooth and jerk-free movement.

These new dampers are made from steel with a glass reinforced nylon output shaft sleeve.
