With its new SC 190 Heavyweight Series 2 shock absorber, Ace Controls International continues to pack product improvements into smaller shock absorbers.

With its new SC 190 Heavyweight Series 2 shock absorber, Ace Controls International continues to pack product improvements into smaller shock absorbers When the Heavyweight 2 Series was first introduced at the end of 2001, the combining of the piston and the inner tube into a single component resulted in dramatic improvements in energy capacity and the effective weight range over existing models

The new SC 190, which has a body length of only 72mm and a diameter of 14mm, has an equivalent 200% increase in energy capacity but also so much more.

The introduction of a well proven rolling seal profile provides a product life cycle four times greater than existing models.

This is equivalent up to 25 million cycles.

Because the inner construction of the shock absorber is a totally sealed system, these new units can be used directly into the standard 7bar pressure within pneumatic cylinders and have the capacity to work in many pressure sensitive applications.

Compared with previous models, the effective weight range of the SC190 range is 15 times greater, from 2 to 1550kg.

Because the standard model of this new SC 190 has a stainless-steel rod, a plastic bearing, a Weartec Plus body coating and is filled with nontoxic fluid it can be installed in all applications including the 'sensitive' food and pharmaceutical sectors and applications in aggressive weather environments.

Says Edward Abbott, UK sales manager of Ace: "Our drive is to give design engineers more and more opportunities to benefit from the use of our shock absorbers and in more and more applications, the size of the unit is becoming ever critical".
