When Brita, renowned manufacturer of water filters, wanted to improve the manufacture of its granulate filled cartridges, Ace Controls International ensured a fast and precise performance German equipment manufacturer Sick developed a filling machine whereby the soft granulate is accurately portioned into individual cups

However, in order to run the filling machine as fast as possible without incurring product spillage, Sick sought advice from Ace design engineers.

The solution was the fitting of an SC 190 miniature shock absorber onto each metering unit.

These maintenance-free, ready-to-install hydraulic devices support the metering station and control the movement of the granulate-filled cartridges.

They always accept the mass softly and evenly throughout the stroke.

The metering unit stops exactly at the precisely defined position for each individual cup and the filling process occurs fast and precisely.

Ace SC miniature shock absorbers have an integral mechanical stop and have proven themselves ideal in applications for handling devices, linear cylinders, rodless cylinders and pneumatically driven slides.
