Clamps put a brake on linear motion

An Ace Controls International product story

Ace Controls International has introduced a new range of linear and rotational clamping/braking devices to give design engineers another option to control motion.

Automation control equipment manufacturer Ace Controls International has introduced a new range of linear and rotational clamping/braking devices to give design engineers another option to control motion.

Their new Locked Series is available in three versions.

Type L offers clamping or braking on machine rails and linear slides, Type P is for piston and pneumatic cylinder rods and Type R is for rotary applications.

When ordering users need to specify clamping or braking; the exception to this is the Type L Active range which offers both clamping and braking in one model.

The clamping function locks in a solid position for inspection, machining, connection or datum measuring applications.

The braking function provides emergency stop protection over a much greater distance than a traditional end position stop.

The Locked Series is a great addition to Ace's other safety products, namely their SCS safety shock absorbers and Tubus profile dampers.

Locked products can be used on their own or in addition to Ace's end stop safety systems.
