Ace vibration sensors detect local malfunctions

An Ace Controls International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 31, 2009

Ace Controls International, an automation control equipment manufacturer, has introduced a vibration sensor for process monitoring that detects local malfunctions in the automation process.

The range of V Sensors is intended to prevent expensive repairs, maintenance and downtime.

The vibration sensors come with a built-in power supply and data recording unit

Available in digital PNP, NPN and analogue versions, the sensors come with built-in power supplies and data recording units.

They are positively connected to the equipment, normally fitting onto the ISO Din Rail, and permanently measure the vibration level during the work process.

If an increase of vibrations caused by an overload, varying drive power and decreasing damping performance above the preset nominal value is detected, the sensor changes its switching status to open or close, depending on the design, and the process is interrupted via the connection to the monitoring system.

These sensors are suitable for use with pick-and-place equipment, linear modules, rotary actuators and grippers.
